"We Have Been Consistent about our Inconsistency."

Post match comments following Wolves 3-1 win away at Burnley plus a few words of warning to the fans for the Tuesday night game against Scunthorpe United


Speaking after the match McCarthy said "We got what we deserved today, we were the better side. There is always two sides to every goal. I have been complaining about our mistakes so maybe we got a slice of luck which made a difference. But don't take away from how well we have played.

"We had to win to get back on track and the only thing we have been consistent about is our inconsistency."

On the forthcoming match against Scunthorpe he added "I don't want 22,000 people turning up thinking that because we beat Burnley it's a foregone conclusion, It will be a tough match and I hope everyone realises we need to be together and right on our game. We played some good stuff today and deserved to beat Burnley.

Clarets boss Owen Coyle didn't give Wolves any credit saying "We totally gifted the game to Wolves, there is no doubt about it, We can't continue to hand gifts to the opposition week after week. Mental strength is a big quality in football and we did not have enough players with it. We needed people to be mentally stronger and there was a softness about the goals we conceded."
