Just coming through on the radio,Steve Bruce is to be announced as the new manager of Wigan according to a brief statement issued by their chairman.

I can't get my head round why Wigan have gone for Bruce, he walked out on them a few years ago and i can't see him getting Wigan any further than he's got Birmingham. I understand his future was in jeopardy at St Andrews with the Carson Young takeover, but i think this is a step backwards for both Wigan and Steve Bruce

And very strange on Birmingham's behalf,clubs involved in take overs are not allowed to appoint a new manager until the transfer is complete.
