Hartson makes Baggies pledge

John Hartson insists he has no plans to leave West Bromwich Albion in the transfer window.

Reports have linked the powerful striker with a return to the Premiership, with speculation claiming West Ham United are lining up a bid.

But the Welsh forward, who has scored in his last two appearances, only has designs on reaching the top flight with West Brom.

Having joined The Baggies last summer from Celtic, Hartson confirmed his intention to repay the club by helping them to achieve promotion.

"The ideal scenario for me would be to get promoted here and have another crack at the Premiership with West Brom," said Hartson.

"I don't think I will be moving on. I am happy at the minute.

"I am in the side and living in the Midlands where I am close to Wales to see my family.

"The club have made me feel very comfortable, so I would like to help them get back up."
