West Bromwich Albion have parted company with manager Bryan Robson, following a disappointing start to the team's Championship campaign.
The decision was taken after fans made plain their criticism following Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Southend at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies are ninth having won just three of their first eight matches, with early season results failing to match expectations of an immediate return to the top flight.
Former Albion midfielder Robson rejoined the club as manager in November 2004, and led the team to Premiership safety on a dramatic final day.
He failed to build on that achievement, however, and last season the Black Country outfit dropped back into the second tier of English football.
Robson's assistant Nigel Pearson will assume caretaker charge of the club.
