The fan shouldn't have been on the pitch, but should Dida have reacted like he did?

F*cking disgraceful, and if the upper echelons decide to take action against Celtic, all decent supporters should boycott football. I don't want to see fans running on the pitch, but i really don't want to sit watching a bunch of puffs play this game either. Dida should be banned for his actions as it is he who was the villian in my eyes.

The 'fan' should be banned for life from football matches.
There is no excuse for running on the pitch.

Dida should be banned from all Champions League games for 12 months.

Play-acting to get fellow players or opposition clubs into trouble should be stamped down on with an iron boot.

Uefa have opened disciplinary proceedings against Celtic following the incident in Wednesday's Champions League match, which saw a spectator confront Milan goalkeeper Dida.

Following Scott McDonald's last-gasp winner for The Bhoys in their Champions League victory, an over-excited home fan, who has subsequently been banned for life by the club, entered the pitch and clipped Dida as he ran past him.

Although Dida initially chased the fan, he then crumbled to the ground clutching his face before being stretched off with an ice pack.

Europe's football governing body have now asked Celtic to respond to charges of a lack of organisation and improper conduct of supporters.

Gordon Strachan's side have until 11th October, when the controlling disciplinary body of Uefa next convenes, to answer the charges.

However, there could still be repercussions for Dida, with Uefa also asking Milan to clarify why the Brazilian keeper was substituted following the incident.

With contact between the fan and the Milan keeper appearing to be minimal at best, the shot-stopper could well face action for appearing to embellish the severity of any injury.
