Defoe in alleged bite

Sports minister Richard Caborn wants the Football Association to examine an incident in which Jermain Defoe appeared to bite Javier Mascherano.

Tottenham striker Defoe seemed to bite the Argentine's arm after he was fouled by the West Ham midfielder on Sunday.

Caborn told The Times: "Any action like this I hope the authorities will decide on. Players in these positions have a responsibility to set a good example."
