Valencia agree David Villa transfer fee with Tottenham
In a sensational developement it has been reported in GOAL that Valencia have agreed a £25 million transfer fee with Tottenham Hotspurs for David Villa, and have given them permission to discuss personal terms with the Spanish star as soon as the Euro2008 tournament is over.
Many clubs have been linked with Villa recently but this is the first time it has been reported that an agreement has been reached.
GOAL says that, although a deal has been reached, it has also been agreed not to make any announcement until Valencia can source a replacement, so as not to upset their fans.
Villa stated that he would not talk to anyone without Valencia's permission: "In the event that Valencia told me that they were going to sell me then I would consider my options," Villa is quoted as saying by the Sunday Mirror.
"It is an issue between the club and not something that I am thinking about. My focus is on the tournament and making sure Spain do well.
"This is not the time to be thinking about my personal future."
What a coup this would be for Tottenham, and surely it would be purely down to Juande Ramos' contacts from his time at Sevilla.
