Swans ready to push on - Martinez

Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez is confident complacency will not creep into his squad despite their 11-point lead at the top of League One.
"If you think you can take your eye off the ball, someone else will come past you and take your place," he said after Friday's 4-0 win at Doncaster.

"But that won't happen because we've got healthy competition in the squad.

"But we're still in January and there's a long way to go. The last thing we can do is think we can look at the table."

Martinez singled out Ferrie Bodde for special praise after the emphatic victory at Keepmoat Stadium.

The midfielder, who was sent off earlier in the season when Doncaster won 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium, opened the scoring with a superb free-kick and then helped set-up the second for Guillem Bauza.

"We all remember what happened in the first game and he knew the way to put things right was to play his football," said Martinez.

"You could see from the first second he was determined to do that. His performance overall was outstanding."

Swansea have hardly put a foot wrong in the league in the last two months, as a run of 10 wins in their last 11 outings has made them clear favourites to win the title.

Their latest win was their fifth game in 13 days and Martinez paid tribute to his players' consistency and stamina.

"The movement going forward was special. We were able to come here and be ourselves, which was my main worry," said Martinez.

"And on top of that we had a solid defensive display. That allows you to perform away from home and overall it was a complete performance.

"It's an important victory because Doncaster have been in tremendous form. Their last game, a win at Elland Road, speaks volumes.

"So it was an important win, especially when you consider it was our fifth game in 13 days.

"That's a huge demand and we need to make sure everyone recovers quickly and looks forward to the next challenge."

That next challenge comes on Tuesday at Nottingham Forest, who currently occupy second place.

"It's always a glamorous occasion when you face the former champions of Europe," added Martinez. "It'll be a difficult one but we'll look forward to it after our win at Doncaster."
