City sack De Koning
Stoke City have terminated the contract of assistant manager Jan de Koning.
The Dutchman, who joined in July 2005, was recently suspended for the second time, along with John Rudge, following a dispute with manager Johan Boskamp.
Both De Koning and director of football Rudge were first suspended following a row with Boskamp over tactics during the 2-1 win at Coventry in November.
"In my opinion I should not have been blamed by anyone for the events," De Koning told the club website.
He added: "I do believe this incident has been unnecessarily blown out of all proportion by Johan Boskamp.
"I wish the club the very best for the future."
The club stated that they had to release De Koning because of the "ongoing effect of a managerial dispute".
