Stoke City missed the chance to go top of the Championship as Crystal Palace climbed into the play-off places.

Palace took the lead against the run of play, Tom Soares heading in unmarked in the 21st minute after great work from Scott Sinclair down the right.

Jose Fonte's long range strike doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time after Stoke had earlier hit the post.

Glenn Whelan pulled one back for Stoke with a 20-yard volley with five minutes to go, but Palace held on for the win.

There is such a difference between watching Premiership games and League games generally now I find most premiership matches very uninspiring

What a job Warnock has done at Palace - Must be a candidate for manager of the season if the manage to stay in play offs Im not his biggest fan but he has done wonders.
