Jaguar and Land Rover sold to Indian Company - Tata

Ford have sold Jaguar and Land Rover in a £1 Billion deal to Indian Vehicle Manufacturer - Tata. Tata are the biggest vehicle manufacturers on the Indian Sub-Continent. The deal secures the 16000 jobs of both companies with Ford guaranteeing pensions. The deal was backed by unions at both companies with Tata seen as the preferred bidder for both.

I signed the papers to get a Jaguar in 2006, then changed my mind within 3 days. There was something about it that just didn't feel right, there was no excitement and anticipation waiting for delivery. A nice car but not for me. As far as Land Rover is concerned i wouldn't have one given

The thing that worries me with these sort of things is whether they will switch production to India at some point . We've already seen Rover go by the by. Would be a shame to see more quality manufacturing work lost to the UK.
