Nigel Worthington has abandoned his interest in becoming Sheffield Wednesday's new manager.
The former Owls defender had suggested he may be keen to replace Paul Sturrock at the helm after admitting he would be prepared to listen to any approach.
But Worthington, who was sacked by Norwich City earlier this month, has now opted to rule himself out of the running for the job.
"I have spoken to people, but the time is not right for me or Sheffield Wednesday," Worthington told The Daily Mail.
"I'm currently having a break and then I'll see what's available."
Ex-England coach Glenn Hoddle is also reported to have turned down the chance to discuss the vacant position.
Latest reports claim Bryan Robson, dismissed by West Brom last month, will be interviewed for the chance to succeed Sturrock at Hillsborough.
