Rotherham 2-1 Dag & Red
Scoring Summary
Rotherham Dag & Red
Mark Hudson (pen 6) Ben Strevens (52)
Danny Harrison (41)
Crisis-club Rotherham put their off-field worries behind them as they beat struggling Dagenham 2-1.
Five parties have made bids for the troubled Millers, and they had good news on the pitch as well as they went in front after six minutes when Mark Hudson netted from the spot after Tom Cahill was brought down by Scott Griffiths.
Five minutes later Dagenham had their best chance of the first half when Dave Rainford headed just over the bar from Glenn Southam's free-kick.
But Rotherham continued to dictate the pace and had several good chances with Dale Tonge firing just over the bar and Danny Harrison pulling a shot wide, but Harrison made no mistake in the 41st minute to double the lead.
Mark Joseph's cross was headed clear by Dagenham but Harrison picked his spot with a delightful volley into the top corner.
Only a brilliant save by Roberts 25 seconds into the second period denied Cahill Rotherham's third but the half-time break revitalised the visitors and Griffiths and Ben Strevens both went close before Strevens did pull one back after 53 minutes, bundling the ball into the net off his body from Southam's corner.
Dagenham continued to dominate but, hard as they tried, they could not manage an equaliser to boost their relegation fight.
