As defender Paul Hurst looks to pass Danny Williams record of 492 games for the Millers he gets some praise from the great man himself..
Williams who had spent over 20 years at Millmoor as a player and later as manager was suprised that somebody had equalled his record, but went on to wish Hursty the best.
"Gerraway, There's always someone who comes along and takes a record." Danny told the Star when he was told of Hurst's acheivement.
"Actually, I think it's smashing and I'd like to say 'well done' to the lad. It's marvellous really and it looks as if he's going to go on to 500 and that will be a magnificent achievement."
"He's obviously been a loyal servant to the club and he's got to have put in a lot of hard work and graft. Mind you, he wouldn't have had to come out of the pit at half past eleven and then go and play in the afternoon like I remember doing," he added.
83 tomorrow and living in Bournemouth, Danny finds it hard to see the Millers but is upset that the Millers went out of the FA Cup, "I wish Rotherham had got through the cup replay and been at Swindon because I would have gone," He said.
Hurst is one of rotherhams biggest legends and i for one has never seen or will see again someone stay at one club for as long as he has, lets hope for a few more years of his great service
