Brogan suffers horror injury

Rotherham defender Stephan Brogan has suffered a double break of his left leg in today's 1-1 draw at MK Dons and looks set to be out for the forseeable future.

The 19 year old was involved in a challenge with Dons keeper Willy Guerret on 55 minutes whilst chasing down a loose ball and the seriousness of the injury was immediate for all to see as players and fans urged the medical staff on to the pitch.

The game was delayed for around ten minutes whilst Brogan was attended to before the full back, who had been playing left midfield, was taken to the local hospital where he was diagnosed with a fracture of both his tibia and fibia in his left leg.

Brogan, who has made 32 starts for the Millers this year will stay in overnight before undergoing an operation tomorrow morning to correct a displaced bone.

MK Dons assistant manager Ray Mathias was the first to publicly back Brogan to make a speedy recovery. He told MK Dons' official site Home | Milton Keynes Dons "It's not nice for the lads to have to see it and it did dampen the game but hopefully the lad will be back playing soon. We wish him all the best and hope his career takes a turn for the better after this."

The Millers who were losing 1-0 at the time of the injury did not let it affect them as they rallied to secure a 1-1 draw

Hope you get better as soon as possible, not good to see someone break there leg, even worse when you are good friends with him. i was next to his mum and dad when it happened, hope they get through this. Best young prospect we have, i know you will overcome it
