McArdle seals move

Rochdale have completed the permanent signing of Rory McArdle from Sheffield Wednesday.

McArdle joined Rochdale for a second loan spell in November, after spending seven months at Spotland last term.

He was due to return to Hillsborough this week but Rochdale have agreed an undisclosed fee with Sheffield Wednesday to keep the centre-back.

"I'm delighted to have signed a contract with Rochdale," McArdle told the club's official website.

"I enjoyed my first stint with the club and coming back was not really a difficult decision.

"Hopefully we can continue in the same vein with results and move in the right direction."
