Garay delight

Ezequiel Garay says he is the "happiest man in the world" after this week signing for Spanish champions Real Madrid.

Madrid will pay Racing Santander 10million euros for the Argentina international centre-back, who has penned a six-year deal at the Bernabeu but will remain at El Sardinero next season on loan.

A number of clubs have been linked to the 21-year-old over the last year, but Garay is thrilled that it is Madrid he is going to.

"I am the happiest man in the world," he said in AS. "Any footballer would be happy about this, to sign for such a great team is a dream come true and something I have worked for every day."

Ezequiel Garay says he will have no qualms in returning to Racing Santander on loan after signing for Real Madrid.

Spanish champions Real have confirmed a deal has been agreed for Garay to move to the Bernabeu in the summer.

The Argentine defender was also linked with a switch to Barcelona, but is happy to have agreed a deal with Bernd Schuster's Real.

Reports suggest he could spend next season back at Racing and Garay admits he would be prepared to return to Santander.
