Kris Boyd was the Rangers hero as he scored twice during the game before firing home the winning spot-kick as they defeated Dundee United on penalties in the CIS Insurance Cup final at Hampden.

The shoot-out defeat was so cruel on United who had twice looked like they would be winning their first trophy in 14 years.
Noel Hunt scrambled home a first-half goal, but with just six minutes of normal time left Mark Kerr inexplicably looked to pass the ball back to his goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska but he only found substitute Boyd and he fired home from eight yards to level.
Then with the game in extra-time, The Terrors again took the lead as Mark de Vries turned Kirk Broadfoot before hammering home.
But The Gers were not to be denied as with seven minutes left on the clock, Boyd rose at the back post to head home Steve Davis' cross.
Into the shoot-out and both sides missed two kicks before the fifth and final efforts. United's Lee Wilkie could not beat Allan McGregor but Boyd stepped up to convert to cap a memorable day.
