Nugent happy at Preston

Striker David Nugent has insisted he wants to remain a Preston player - at least until the end of the season.

Nugent is expected to attract bids from Premiership clubs when the transfer window reopens in January

But the 21-year-old said: "I like the speculation but I'm a Preston player. I want to stay here and try to get us into the Premiership.

"In an ideal world I would like to stay at Preston. At the very least I'd like to stop to the end of the season."

He added: "But I'm happy at Preston and want to get them to the Premiership."

Striker David Nugent says his future at Preston North End will be decided by whether the club win promotion.
The 21-year-old Nugent, who has one year left on his contract said: "I've said to my agent if we do go up, I want to sign a new deal with Preston.

"But if we don't I might have to leave to further my career. I want to be playing in the Premiership week in, week out, that's where I need to be.

"I want it to be with Preston, but if not, it'll have to be somewhere else."
