Premier League Pub guide

Right boys and girls, where can away fans go, and where shouldn't they, to quench their thirsts?

Chelsea FC -Pub Guide

For home supporters, there are more than an adequate number of pubs in and around the area of Stamford Bridge. Although quite pricey, The Slug And Lettuce (turn right out of Fulham Broadway) is large and has a bar upstairs. Others in the Fulham Broadway area include Bootsy Brogan's and The White Hart. There are more than twenty five pubs within ten minutes walk of the ground, so it is very much a case of 'take your pick'.

Away supporters are often found in both The Slug And lettuce and Bootsy Brogan's, but the Blackbird at Earls Court is a pub where you can go and 'talk football' with Chelsea supporters. As with all away grounds, wherever you go, it is advisable not to get to loud, but you should be able to wear your colours etc without much of a problem. Whatever you do, have a good time but be prepared to see your team get beaten!

I was asked yesterday where the away fans could drink when I went to Ewood, so in case anyone didn't know...

The away fans pub at Blackburn is called the Fernhurst. It's almost directly opposite the away end on the A666 (just slightly further towards Darwen/South). It has recently built a travel inn-kind-of-extension and allows cars to park for a price in the car park.

There are other local pubs that will accept away fans but none as close to the ground. The Ewood Arms and The Aqueduct (other side/Blackburn End of the ground) are home fans only. Uncle Jacks in lower Darwen (left at traffic lights going south on and diverting left off the A666) is also home fans only.

The only mixed fans pub I know is up Livesey branch road, that is, up the hill by MacDonalds. I can't remember the name as I've only been once but I think it's the White (maybe Black?) Bull. You'll find others if you drink in either Darwen or Blackburn town centre but both are at least 2-3 miles from the ground.
