7 subs from 2008/09 season.

Premier League Clubs will be allowed to name 7 subs for matches starting next season it has been announced. This is in keeping with other major European Leagues which already allow 7 subs.

Even more reason for squads to get bigger and more overseas players into our game

We should also bring back the maximum overseas allocation

I'm in agreement with that too! It's total madness when you can't pick 5 decent subs to choose 3 from. Where does it all stop? when the full 22,26 are on the sheet.

It still takes a good Manager/Coach to get the best out of 14 players (If he uses all 3 subs) during a match though ...

it gives the manager more options in case of inexpected injuries.

tax overseas players, make the clubs feel it in their wallet, that's what's needed. Take Portsmouth, no offence but the entire team is black....

last game Bolton vs Portsmouth where 4 white players(Hreidarsson, Kranjčar, Hughes and Baros) in the Portsmouth line-up!!!
just for the record
i agree with you regarding higher taxes for foreigners, but should be payed by the club not by the player
and maybe 7 subs isnt a bad idea 1 goalkeeper, 2 defenders, 2 midfielders and 2 forwards doesnt sound to much, does it
so the manager can change tactics during the game and maybe even Rafa would be able to get one right

True but dont think having different taxation systems for foreign players would work. Would probably increase people going for dual nationalities to get around it.
