well that is very debateable about who are the best fans in england. for example would some of the top teams keep going and singing if there team were in the bottom league with rubbish players.

but if your asking about the top league, it has to be portsmouth. there fans always keep singing and are really supporters unlike some of the top teams. they make a really good atmosphere and enjoy it.

before people say it, DONT. newcatsle do not have good fans, people say they are great becuase they always get 52000 even though they dont win much. but i remember about 10 years ago when they were in the 2nd division and good old rotherham played them at there place. 7000 was there and 2000 were milllers.

This would depend on the result at the time and how well the team is playing, mind when i used to watch i was always on edge rarely ever excited as we were never that far in front to be anything else.

Yes, it depends on the team's success or your star players.
But some teams' fans are known well even they were dropped the second leauge.Because they don't love teams' success or their star players, they just love their clubs, and we say in Turkey : I love this colours (it means I love my team, my stadium and name, not people or success)
So I believe that there are many fans which we don't know, because their teams are not Premier Leauge or their teams are not as successful as Man U or Chealse.
Meanwhile, In Turkey, Liverpool's fans of KOP are well known by us.And their song (you'll never walk alone) impressed our feelings.I think, Liverpool and fans of KOP are well known here.
But this is not what I asked for.I really ask for which fans are the most struggling or do their best for their team?
I agrre with you it's an argueable ques. But there should be an answer

Do you think the ground helps with the atmosphere at Portsmouth. It still has a lot of charachter and isn't one of the new grounds that have no heart and soul.
