If the rumour of SWP signing is a strong one, Pompey are going to be one hell of a team to watch come the new season. James, Johnson, Campbell, Shorey(maybe), SWP, Defoe and Crouch is half an England team. Harry wanted the job after all!

Portsmouth are buying well and things look good on the south coast, i have always thought Peter Crouch is a very underestimated player, his height always makes him a threat. When you say half the England team, i think you mean you've got 6 capped players, they're not exactly regulars.

Whose to say they won't be in the future, especially if they are regularly playing together. Remember the last time England were any where near good enough on the international stage.....when half the team played for Arsenal.

Crouch has linked up with Defoe before - in an England shirt - and the two have managed to score 10 goals in the 322 minutes that they have played together in international football. Taken from Fansoline: So thats 1 goal every 32.2 minutes. Over a season thats about 106 goals between them for Pompey... Thats a Top 4 finish all going well

 I love how optimistic we all get at the start of the season. If Crouch and Defoe get 106 goals, plus another 50 from the rest of the side, then it's Pompey all the way for me.

OK 106 goals is overly optimistic, but if Little and Large play together regularly, both for club and country, there should be (lets be honest) plenty of goals. Thats superb for both Country and Club.
