Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp is reportedly keen on bringing £11.7million-rated Benfica defender Luisao to Fratton Park over the summer.

The Premier League club have sent scouts to Portugal to check on the Brazilian, and saw him feature in his club's 2-0 defeat to Porto on April 20.

The Brazil defender is contracted to Benfica until 2009, but it is understood that an offer of around 15million euros (£11.7million) would be enough to tempt the Super Liga club into a sale.
