Maybe Pompey should play a stronger side, this is one of only 2 competitions they can win this season, the other being the FA Cup. This proves beyond doubt that money is more important to clubs than silverware. I wonder where Portsmouth would rather finish this season bearing in mind clubs get around £500,000 per league placing. Would they prefer to finish League Cup Winners and 15th in the league or no silverware and 10th in the league.
