Port Vale: Robbie Savage

Port Vale are believed to be interested in signing Derby's Wales international Robbie Savage, who is available on loan.

The managerless Valiants have contacted the Rams about a possible deal but it is thought they cannot afford to pay their part of his £25,000-a-week wages.

Savage is over the hill anyway. He'll not do any favours for Port Vale. I think there are better players available for loan.

I'm not suggesting he's in the same mould but remember when Neil Shipperley came to Brentford a few seasons ago - way over the hill and past it. I suspect it will be the same here.
