Posh in record deal

Joe Lewis has become Peterborough's record signing after joining from Norwich for £400,000.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper recently returned to Carrow Road after a successful loan stint at Morecambe, but found David Marshall and Matthew Gilks ahead of him in the pecking order.

He has now penned a four-and-a-half year deal with Posh and could make his debut in Saturday's League Two clash against Macclesfield.

cant believe it, how can they pay 400k for a player

heard they have made a 350k and a 300k bid for other players. this is going to make it even harder for us to go up. darlo are spending a bit of money as well.

but if you have got it, you can spend it, but iit might go wrong

What chance do teams like Brentford have? As you say, however, you need to spend the money wisely ....

That's the thing about football nowadays Danni, maybe it's always been like this I am not sure. The teams with the money will dominate the various leagues, while the others struggle. The only team this doesn't seem to apply to is Mossley. Last season we spent quite a bit of money on players wages (well for the league we were in anyway) yet we were relegated. Mind you our manager was a tactical genius so that might explain it.

id sy thats too much for a player for a team from league two. players normally get sold for that money when their going up a league not down.
We only got 100,000 for nugent.

Say him play when he was at morcombe and he was the difference between them and us.

We had him on trial last season whenwe had our annual goalkeeper crisis seems we really missed out on that one just shows our manager knows nothing when it comes to looking for talent

There's 2 ways of looking at it, yes it's an awful lot of money for Peterbro to spend, but it also could be seen as a good investment because by all accounts he's destined for higher things at bigger clubs. Maybe they'll get a million for him in 3 years time

yeh, but remember its a gamble. 400k on a 20 year old keeper that could be a flop. they must have a lot of money, because it could go all wrong. leeds fans know how gambleing with money backfires on you
