It's nice to see Jim Smith back in management, and at his old club Oxford United. It's not long ago that Oxford were in the top division of English football. Smith managed the club between 1982 and 1985, when they still played at The Manor Ground. Chaiman at the time was Robert Maxwell, with players such as John Aldridge, Trevor Hebberd, Kevin Brock and Billy Hamilton.
Big Jim joins Oxford under very different terms this time though with Oxford in a relegation battle, that if they lose will see them drop out of the league and into the Conference.
