Liverpool eye Latics stopper
Liverpool are reportedly monitoring the progress of Oldham defender Neal Eardley.
The 17-year-old right back has made his senior breakthrough this season, earning stellar reviews for a series of promising displays for the League One outfit.
Liverpool have had the youngster watched in the Football League Youth Alliance in the past few campaigns and are now continuing to keep a watchful eye on his performances at first team level.
Although Eardley has made just four appearances he has established himself in Wales' Under-21 squad and is thought to be a player of considerable promise.
Oldham are likely to offer him professional terms in the not too distant future, aware that Liverpool - who reportedly had their chief talent spotter at Oldham's game with S****horpe at the weekend - could come in with an offer.
In the past Oldham have profited from a successful youth system, with Scott Spencer having moved to Everton this year in a deal that could rise to £600,000
