Far too much money for someone not really proven. I would rather CC spend the money on somebody like Freddy Eastwood wh's rotting away in Wolves reserves yet has done the business at this level & championship.

100% I think we could get better for less. I'm convinced Freddy Eastwood (nearly posted Shepherd then !!!) would cost less & for me is a far superiour striker.

Apparently there's a meeting today between Forest & Coventry about Best. It looks like we'll be offering 1.2 mill for him. Also we've upped our bid for the guy from Dundee United to 1 mill. This really bothers me spending this type of cash in L1.....Then again, we did get 1.5 mill sell on for Marlon King & something similar when Harewood joined Villa.

It's fine spending that kind of money when you're in league one as long as it gets you promotion at the end of the season. One thing is for certain, if teams don't spend mone they won't go up.

Coventry paid or should have paid (transfer Embargo) £600,000 for Best so Forest need to be making offers in that region for any chance of a deal. So far the Coventry papers say Forest have only offered £300,000 half of what he cost Coventry, so there very little chance whilst he's under contract of Coventry selling to Forest.

Another player that has done nothing and bemoans everyone else, more ego than ability...you're probably lucky you haven't signed him..
