Former Coventry City star Darren Huckerby released by Norwich

NORWICH manager Glenn Roeder has confirmed that former Coventry City star Darren Huckerby will not be offered a new deal at Carrow Road.

The 32-year-old, who has played more than 200 games for the club, is one of nine players released by Roeder.

Roeder said: "I have talked it over with Darren and told him we will not be offering him a contract for next season.

"I am looking to overhaul the squad for next season and beyond and a number of players, including Darren, are not part of those plans."

Chairman Roger Munby said: "Darren had a galvanising effect on the club, on and off the pitch, and was an integral factor in our promotion to the Premier League."

Have to say that Darren Huckerby has been a truely class player both at Norwich and Coventry........
