Michael Owen could leave Newcastle if they try to cut his wages as part of a new deal, with Everton among the possible contenders to sign him. (Daily Mail)

Do you think it's about time that players who've been injured for the majority of their contract at a club started to show some loyalty?. Michael Owen is in the same boat as Harry Kewell at Liverpool, both came on big money, both have failed to produce through injury, and now both have said they won't take a cut in wages. Players like these are bleeding clubs dry.

And of course they're not getting any younger. Kewell & Owen will soon have to face up to the reality that they don't quite command the same wages as other younger & fitter players.
