Tomorrow we enter the FA Cup for this season, and have a home tie in the preliminary round against North West Counties League side Ramsbottom United. As we are at home and against a team who play at a lower level than us we should win in theory. As everyone knows in football though this doesn't always happen, and we will need to carry our good form so far this season into this game.

We won 3-1 today to progress into the first qualifying round of the FA Cup, against North West Counties League side Ramsbottom United. To be honest Ramsbottom United were much the better side in the first half, and fully deserved to be leading.
It could and should have been more than 1-0 in fact, but we really did step up the pace in the second half and won thanks to goals from Lee Blackshaw, Danny Egan and Micheal Fish. We now have to await the winners of a the Wednesday night replay between Flixton and Bottesford Town who drew 2-2 this afternoon. |

Odd game yesterday I thought! Ramsbottom totally ran out of steam in the second half and you were good value for the win in the end. Would have been interesting though what the score would have been if they took their numerous chances in the first half.
Was impressed though with how you turned it round in the second half. Must have been one hell of a roasting by Chris. The team is definately a lot better than when I last reffed you against Wakefield in March. Good luck in the next round |
