Real Madrid defender Jonathan Woodgate is set to make his loan move to Middlesbrough a permanent one within 24 hours. (The Sun)

Middlesbrough have confirmed the £7m permanent signing of England defender Jonathan Woodgate.
Woodgate, 27, arrived at his home-town club in August on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.

But he has now made the permanent switch to the Riverside, signing a four-year contract and putting his injury misery behind him.

They've just got the best centre back in England bar none.

If he wants to get in England team would have thought he would have gone to a better club Boro gunn struggle (again) next year.

Must be hard on the chairman Steve Gibson to pump all that mony in and give them new stadium to see it almost empty - He must have bankrolled them 50m plus. If he ever decides h'es had enough they will be doomed.
