Smart move as Brain stays on
Macclesfield goalkeeper Jon Brain has agreed to extend his stay at the League Two club by putting pen to paper on a new two-year deal.
The former Carlisle trainee, 25, joined the Silkmen two years ago from Port Vale but suffered a serious leg break at Stockport in November 2006.
He was subsequently sidelined for 12 months but eventually returned to action last October and regained his place between the posts.
Silkmen boss Keith Alexander said: "Jon showed a lot of character to come back from a very serious injury, one that could easily have ended his career.
"But he came back stronger and without wishing to over dramatise has had a new lease of life. He works hard and clearly is enjoying the game and that showed in his performances in the second half of last season."
