Luton dimiss Vine claims
Luton Town have dismissed in the strongest terms a report claiming that Rowan Vine has been sold to Sunderland.
The report in question maintained that The Hatters' top scorer had completed a £2million switch to the North East to join Carlos Edwards, who left Luton for £1.4million earlier in January, at the Stadium of Light.
However the Championship club have now set the record straight by firmly denying that any talks have taken place with Roy Keane's side regarding the sale of Vine.
"Following a report in Saturday's Daily Mail, Luton Town Football Club denies that Rowan Vine has been sold and that the report is completely inaccurate," read a club statement.
"The club can confirm that at no time have they had any discussions with Sunderland Football Club for any player, other than Carlos Edwards."
Luton have already rejected one bid for former Portsmouth striker Vine from Cardiff, whilst Norwich boss Peter Grant has also admitted his interest in the 12-goal Hatters star.
