League 2 review - week 33

Despite one point from 12 the Millers stay in fifth after the weekend's results. Here's our usual round up.

Victories for Hereford and Peterborough on Saturday helped close the gap on MK Dons as their game at home to Wrexham fell foul of the weather.

The Millers defeat at Wycombe means the Chairboys closed in on the leading pack but one result in our favour this weekend saw improving Mansfield pick up three points at Darlington.

Elsewhere the division's unpredictability continued as Stockport threw away an advantage to lose 2-1 at home to Bury, although they had to play the second period with just 10 men. Conuty are again in action tomorrow night as they entertain Mansfield at Edgeley Park.

Rochdale sit just outside the play off zone with games in hand and take on Notts County tomorrow, whilst Grimsby's recent flying form was halted as they had their wings clipped by Dagenham, who came away with a 4-1 win from Blundell Park to follow up their 6-2 demolishing of Chester last week.

Macclesfield slipped further into trouble as another of the league's improvers Lincoln recorded a 3-1 win at Sincil Bank. Brentford got another good win at home to Accrington, Brentford took a 1-0 lead before midfielder craney pulled it back to 1-1, but bang on half time, Haywood scored to make it 2-1, after the break connel made it 3-1 and secured a good win.

Must say hats off to the people at Brentford since they got rid of Butcher. Argueably the most improved team in the division, slightly more impressive than the turnaround of fortunes for Bury & Lincoln.

Cheers, and done initially with exactly the same team and the assistant manager!

Yes Butcher could be an inspired choice to be Scotlands No 2

He hasn't exactly got a great track record, but maybe he will be better if he isn't the main man. I really don't wish Scotland any ill will. I liked Butcher, just a shame he isn't really manager material
