Bristol City have today moved to sign Micheal Mifsud, according to the Sky Blues Web site Bristol have made an acceptable offer which the Chairman Ray Ranson has accepted so the player is now in talks with his potenial new club.
I have to say its a shame that Mifsud is leaving he was a much needed ray of hope last season when highlights were far and few between. I have to say though with Chris Coleman looking to bring in more strikers Mifsud chances of holding a regular first team place would have diminished, that is probably what he could see happening. Add to the fact that Coventry needs to reduce its squad size and wage bill anyone who wants to go may well be allowed to go. ![]() Just days to go and we can see what our managers have manged to do with our beloved teams...

This is an update of the latest news surround Micheal Mifsuds move away from Coventry, please note all these stories were printed today...
Cold shoulder for Michael Mifsud Jul 28 2008 By Andy Turner MICHAEL MIFSUD will not be travelling to Scotland with the Sky Blues today if his move to Bristol City is still not settled. The striker failed to agree personal terms with the rival Championship club last week when he was was given a take it or leave it ultimatum by manager Gary Johnson. Coventry have already completed their part of the deal by accepting a bid for the Malta international who, it appears, has been unhappy for some time. "As far as we are concerned we have agreed with Bristol City and it is up to Michael to agree terms with them," said City boss Chris Coleman. "The player asked to leave, we granted him his wishes and agreed a fee with Bristol City and it is now up to them to sort his personal terms out. "I don't see the reason for him to travel to Scotland if it isn't done because he wants to move on and I said as soon as I came through the door that I don't want to keep anyone who doesn't want to be here, because whether they are a fans' favourite or not, if they don't want to play for the club they shouldn't be here. "So we have to make sure that we work hard to move players like that on and we will do. His agent has been saying to the chairman for some time now that the player feels it is time to move on, so I said if we get the right bid we will do the deal. "We have had that and it is up to Michael to agree his personal terms." Crystal Palace plan to hijack Michael Mifsud move Jul 28 2008 CRYSTAL PALACE are making an 11th hour move to snatch Michael Mifsud from under Bristol City's noses. The Maltese international looked certain to move to Ashton Gate after Coventry City accepted a £1.5million bid last week. However the striker's transfer has now stalled over personal terms. And the Daily Mail reports that Crystal Palace are making a late move to sign up the Sky Blues forward, who scored 17 goals last season. They hope to hold talks with Mifsud this week. Michael Mifsud set for Bristol City move today Jul 28 2008 MICHAEL MIFSUD will sign for Bristol City today after taking the weekend to consider the move, according to reports. The Times of Malta reports that Robins chairman Steve Lansdown is confident that the Maltese international will sign a contract with the Robins today. He said: "Mifsud took his partner around Bristol during the weekend and liked what he saw. We expect to seal that deal tomorrow (today)." Coventry City accepted a bid - thought to be in the region of £1.5million - last week after Mifsud handed in a transfer request ![]() ![]()

The impression I get is that Chris Coleman wanted to keep him but Mifsud decided that he wanted to be off and perhaps get the big move. Coventry seem to be implying that his agent is to blame really and now that Mifsud has been blown out by Bristol for asking for to much he finds himself in limbo. Chris Coleman has said that because Mifsud wants a move he is not part of the team plans for next season, so Mifsud finds himself sidelined.
He would still be a hero with the Coventry faithful but, he has cast us asided now and I don't think the fans will be to gentle with him if he stays, unless of course he scores more goals and beats Man.Utd again
