Coventry City still keen on Freddy Eastwood

COVENTRY City remain keen on Wolves striker Freddy Eastwood – despite the player declaring he would relish moving to Cardiff, according to expressandstar.com

Eastwood’s future remains deadlocked, with Wolves believed to be seeking their £1.5m investment back on what they paid a year ago.

The Sky Blues are at this stage only prepared to offer around £1m up front for the former Southend marksman, in the hope of cashing in on his controversial spell at Molineux.

Wolves are thought to be playing hardball at the moment, so no breakthrough appears to be imminent.

Eastwood expressed his desperation for a move to a Welsh Sunday paper last weekend, where he declared his desire to move to Cardiff.

Yet there are no signs of any interest from the Bluebirds’ former Wolves boss Dave Jones, who is believed to only have a limited budget at his disposal anyway.

Despite his south east roots, Eastwood has settled well in the Midlands and is believed to favour prolonging his stay in the area.

Eastwood is keen to join Coventry but appeared to back Wolves’ stance on his value, declaring: "They will probably want their money back, but having said that I don’t think I am a player who has lost any value.

"I have played well when I have played.

"I was going to go out on loan at one point so it shows there is interest and when I have come off the bench I’ve done well – but the gaffer still said he’s willing to let me go."

"So far there’s been bits and pieces of interest but hopefully over the next few weeks someone will be knocking on the door.

"I can’t see me being there in August."
