AZ Alkmaar confirm Aron Einar Gunnarsson deal

DUTCH side AZ Alkmaar today confirmed they have agreed a deal with Coventry City for Icelandic midfielder Aron Einar Gunnarsson

The Dutch outfit announced on its official website this morning that the two clubs had agreed terms for the tough-tackling midfielder.

The move is now dependent on the 19-year-old agreeing personal terms and passing a medical at the Ricoh. Sky Blues' bosses hope the deal with be sealed today.

Premier League Middlesbrough and newly-promoted Hull City are also interested in his services but Coventry hope to attract him with their ambition and the guarantee of more first team action.

This deal has now gone through with Aron Gunnarsson signing a three deal with the Sky Blues the Coventry manager see the nineteen year old Aron, as a talented youngster who will fit straight into the first team, having already played three senior internationals with Iceland. No fee has been disclosed, Gunnarsson is Coleman's second signing of the closed season...

I wonder if we'll know any players when the Sky blues step out against Norwich on August 9th.
