Coventry City in the hunt for Carlos Bocanegra

COVENTRY CITY'S Chris Coleman is facing a battle with Ipswich Town to sign his former defender Carlos Bocanegra.

The US international - released by Fulham at the end of the season - is reportedly a summer transfer target for the Sky Blues, according to eadt online

Reports suggest Coventry are the front-runners for the player's signature but the 29-year-old defender also has had offers to play in the MLS.

I think any signing that'll improve on what you've got is a good one. I've heard of the player but i can't say i know too much about him. It looks like Coventry are going to go splash the cash for next season

According to the article on the Coventry web site today, Chris Coleman is looking to bring several players, whilst its fair to say that they have money to spend I don't think its the huge sums the fans are hoping for.

The Coventry Evening telegraph reports that Luton Town have turned down a written bid for the right winger David Bell. The new Luton board admitted the bid but say it is not enough, Coventry for their part have said they are waiting to hear back from Luton as to what their valuation of the player is but won't be paying any excessive prices.

So somethings are happening I suppose most will come out after June 30th when most contracts end.

Bocanegra is a quality defender. He was one of Colaman's signings at Fulham so I would think that there's a decent chance he'll sign for Coventry.
