Brown and Murphy in charge
Hull have put Phil Brown and assistant manager Colin Murphy in temporary charge after Phil Parkinson's departure from the club.
Brown joined the Championship side as first-team coach in October.
The 47-year-old, who had a long spell as assistant boss under Sam Allardyce at Bolton, was sacked by Derby in January after seven months in charge.
"I do want to return to management but unfortunately not in these circumstances," said Brown.
He added: "I came to the club to help Phil Parkinson survive in his job but I feel in my own mind that I've failed because he's left his position."
However, Brown refused to rule out the prospect of succeeding Parkinson if his temporary spell in charge proves a success.
