Huddersfield have sacked manager Andy Ritchie.

Despite being only just out of the play-off picture in League One, Town have parted company with the former Barnsley chief.

Ritchie also led Huddersfield to the FA Cup fifth round where they were knocked out by Chelsea.

The reason for Huddersfield sacking Andy Ritchie is unbelievable. Here's a club statement

"Andy Ritchie is as nice a person as you could meet and we wish him every success in the future," said Town chairman Ken Davy.


"Going forward however, our focus at Huddersfield Town now has to be appointing a new manager for our Centenary season.


"For whatever reason the reality is that despite an increase spend and new signings, we have not progressed as we all hoped this season. We will now take a fresh look at our options.


"Huddersfield Town has some great supporters and tremendous potential as well as great history; we need to find someone who can harness these elements as we celebrate the club's hundred years."


Forget that Huddersfield are in League 1 then, they think because it's 100 years they can just go off and play in the Chapions League. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!

why have they got rid of him, he was doing a good job, did well in the FA cup this season and if he spent a little bit of money he could have done something.

he was only there a year, you can do anything in a year unless you spend millions. it takes at least 2 years to build a team.

look at all the best teams, there managers have been there for years, when we did well, our manager was here 7 years, thats the reason you do well
