Shaymen worries

Halifax Town are anxiously awaiting news from a meeting involving their Rugby League counterparts.

The Nationwide Conference outfit share their home ground with LHF Healthplan Division One side 'Fax, and will be sweating over an emergency meeting next Monday which will highlight the financial situation at the club that could lead to the town's Rugby outfit being liquidated.

A breakdown of communication between board members appears to have scuppered hopes of a rescue package with the rugby club still some £35,000 short of a £90,000 target figure needed to escape being wound up.

The impact on the football club could be huge with both sides jointly paying rent on the 14,000-capacity stadium at present.
