It goes on interpritation shortfuse - never does a ref have to say before, during a game he will let it happen. Its upto defending team to defend a free kick. Thats why some managers dont mind if the ball is kicked away and a player receives a yellow card. On tv it looks a right sham but thinking about it its a good move.

It might look a right sham on tv, but from a players point of view its a right kick in the teeth. Its ok if the decision goes for you but if its against you its the worst decision in the world! All i'm saying is that it should be made clear to everyone not just refs.

At pro level it's get what you can/and by what means. That cascades to amature level and you can guarantee that on saturday/sunday they will be that many free kicks taken as soon as ball placed its untrue!! Saturday 2 out of 10 might go in and sunday 1 of 10 might go in. Its a goal though

If we conceded a goal to a quick free kick, our manager would go totally mad not with the ref or the other team but with us for not been switched on to what going on around us Lille paid the price and there reaction was poor to say the least i hate Man Utd but well done Giggs total credit
