As I was born in 1969, i just about scrape into the 'I think Pele was best' club!!! No-one comes close or ever will. 1200 goals in 1300 games approx (96 for Brasil), nuff said. Also George Best closely followed by Maradona, Cruyff, Zidane & Jimmy Johnson. And then come a whole load more..... Too many to list.

Pele never played in Europe, that's why he has such an impressive goal record.

And won 3 out of 4 World Cups he was in. As for his scoring record being due to him never playing in Europe, how come the likes of Gerson, Garrincha, Rivelino etc, etc, etc (The list is endless) never got a thousand odd goals. The fact is he won't ever be bettered. NEVER.
