Saw Gazza's Debut at Wembley in about 1989 - he scored of course.

Seeing Australia qualify for the world cup in 2005 against Uruguay - the cheering didn't stop for 20 minutes!

Aussie - Sorry to be an anorak but....

Gazza made his England debut against Denmark on 14th September when he came on for the last 5 minutes.

It wasn't until April 1989 when he scored his first England goal after coming on as a substitute in a 5-0 World Cup win over Albania at Wembley.

Well it was a long time ago 1967 in fact, Coventry's first season in the Old First Division, watching Coventry play Manchester Utd at Highfield Road and winning 2-0, goals by Maurice Setters and Ernie Machin. On the pitch that day heros of my youth, Bobby Charlton, George Best to name but two.....The ground was so full being only a ten years old I was allowed to sit and watch the game from the touch line....and of course run on the pitch when Coventry scored and be told in no uncertain terms by Dave Clements to get back off the pitch young man....not quite phased that way.
Probably not the greatest sporting moment in history but, it locked me into supporting Coventry for the next forty years and probably beyond, if you look below its been forty years of suffering....

Below is the final placings for the 1967/68 season, interesting that forty years later and the league looks so similar, could it be Man.City's year? to top United again...
