Ideas Please!!

Aussie has suggested a way that the prediction league can be run for next year, it is good to see members offering their opinions, so if you have some about how this should be run then please post them in here ..

Doing the prediction leagues this year has been too long winded, it's been taking me about 2-3 hours a week just to enter the fixtures and results. It's also took to long to put the predictions in, all the games is too many. This time around it was difficult to see who was winning throughout the season overall, and it wasn't until the end ,when most people had dropped out that Phil became a clear winner.
I think next season it'd be better if we had a smaller selection of games, maybe just do it for Premiership matches. This would make it easier all round, from entering fixtures, Predicting scores and there'd only be one table.

Aussies idea of a monthly league, with a small entry fee is also worth consideration. This would enable members to join at any time throughout the season

You have also got to remember that people (members) come and go all the time - that's why it was good for you guys to start the xmas comp for the influx of new members that occured with the bee explosion :)

How about this.......

monthly comps for Sept,Oct,Nov,Dec,Jan,Feb,March,April - 8 in all.

Entry fee of a fiver per month per entry? I'm sure everyone could afford a quid a week!

50% of monies taken go to the monthly winner, 25% to football chatter for running costs and 25% in the pot for the yearly overall winner.

After each monthly comp points are awarded : say 1st 5 points, 2nd 3 points, 3rd 1 point - after all 8 months are finished the points are added up and the winner gets the 25% carry over pot.

Muck about with the % and the points as much as you want - we just need to get the comp down to a monthly set up I reckon

just set up every premiership game for the entire month in one hit - over 4 weekly sections so we know who is in front each week and then you just need to enter the results - if you need a hand let me know closer to Sept - I'm ignoring Aug because its not a full month of fixtures usually

come on guys - any other ideas? five quid for the most points of the week for example?

if we can get 20 members a month playing that would make a huge difference to the sites piggybank!

The season will be on us before we know it, and still not clear what we are doing..

I suggest run a league as normal, and simultaneously one as Aussie suggests. The one we run as normal is for anyone to join for free, and the second one will be £5 for the season, winner taking 75% and 25% towards the site..

Let me know what you think..

excellent.
suggestion:
The winner has the possibility to donate the full 100 percent of the money and become a honorary member of the site.

ok

so we have a monthly comp costing 5 quid a throw

the place getters each month gain points for the ultimate prize of all points gain etc

HOWEVER

what is the main yearly comp going to be? I found last season it was a hassel to enter - too many - i reckon keep it to SATURDAY games in Premier and thats it - ok = some weeks that might only be 5 -7 fixtures - so what?
