Sky or Virgin ?

We've just had Virgin Media installed today. Got a V+ box downstairs + a normal set top box upstairs. Also had Virgin Broadband + their phone service installed. So basically we did a like for like swap from Sky + & BT Broadband + phone. Total cost for Sky & BT per month = £140 just under. For the same services (although better IMO) from Virgin we will now pay £85 per month. I'd like to know where Sky & BT get off charging these prices when Virgin can do it at nearly half the price. And V+ is excellent. Unlike Sky + you can record 2 programmes and watch a 3rd at the same time. Virgin Broadband is a lot faster than BT's too.

I couldn't tell you what we've got - I'll check. All I know is nothing ever works in this house - we can never tape anything and I've also got a fax/answerphone sitting in front of me which is knackered. Sometimes we get someone saying hello but then they get cut off.

Sky is hte best. Because it is free for me only for a year

I downloaded something yesterday for the first time and was amazed how quick it was. Something like 4.87 MB in 9 seconds which I could never achieve with BT. Value for money wise I think it's very good.

Sky disadvantages - Setanta costs £10 extra per month, Sky + you can only record one programme and watch one other, No "On Demand" service.

Virgin advantages - Setanta is free (Including Celtic,Rangers,Arsenal,Liverpool TV). V+ can record 2 programmes and you can still watch a 3rd. On Demand TV, Music & Films service. Watch Little Britain and other good programmes whenever you want. And the biggest + is that it's so much easier to record soaps or series than sky +. Very easy to set up.
