Should Saha be given wings or an Oscar

Following Saha's appalling dive for a penalty yesterday against Chelsea, should Saha be awarded in someway for his diving talents?

Bad bad bad Refereeing in that game yesterday. If Mikel was red carded then Rooney and arguably J.Cole should've gone as well. There was no contact for the pen that I could see on MOTD last night. Abysmal decision . However that doesn't detract from the fact that Chelsea weren't quite at it either. Mr Grant has a hard act to follow ...

Lets get a few things straight......

Utd had a stonewall penalty denied in the 1st half. (at the Stretford End!)

Mikel would have been sent off by 50% of refs and not by the other 50%, the debates could go on forever, I thought it was harsh.

The same with Joe Cole, did he go for the ball? if not, then he should have gone.

The Saha incident looked theatrical, yes he was clipped, but he also received a forearm in the face, which no one seems to have noticed except me and the ref!

Utd were poor again, its time to start going for the jugular, Chelsea could have nicked one in the last 10 mins and we would be very upset if they had.

Chelsea were very poor, after the sending off they lost all ambition, but if they had any they had a great chance for a point. Utd can't defend for toffee.

The ref was awful for both teams.
Are there any good refs left?

Never a penalty

Video Ref time - any appeal for a penalty goes upstairs to the video ref - any suggestion of a dive and the player gets a yellow and the "dive" reviewed on monday - if its a certain dive - 3 game suspension

something has to be done - its a farce at the moment - I was against the video ref a few weeks ago but I'm sick to death of cheats

Football is a game of interpretation and everyone has different views on the same tackles.

So the video ref would be useless.

If you asked 100 refs about

a) denied pen
b) Mikel
c) Cole
d) given pen

you wouldnt get the same decision from all of them

I have to agree with Aussie Bee, perhaps not the video ref, but the FA should review all penalties sending offs and such event and then confirm the ref's decision or retrospectivley punish the player.

For example, the Saha dive and lets be far a four year old can take more of wack than that without falling over, there is no way there was enough power or contact to cause Saha to have bend his spine double and fall like that.

I'll try again, cheating needs to be stamped out completely where ever it happens on the pitch, players should be yellow carded retrospectivley. If the dive say obtains a penalty that wins a game or even draws a game then the player should recieve a three match ban and the club have the points taken off them.

Genuine errors by the ref I think we have to live with, but deception by players should be punished harshly.

But these errors can cost clubs dearly, some clubs need to fight for every point.

I have to agree with Briggcov, retrospective punishment. Do what they do in Rugby League....Put the player on report to be dealt with at a later date. But hey, Saha isn't the first and won't be the last.

Your quite right Kelly he's not the first but at some point the FA, UEFA and FIFA must put an end to this kind of cheating.......
